Our Engagement in Bangladesh: Beyond Compliance
Bangladesh is one of our key sourcing regions—and we believe in going far beyond baseline standards. Following the Rana Plaza tragedy, we initiated a two-year development project in partnership with the German Ministry of Development, aimed at transforming conditions from within.
Together with local suppliers, experts, and over 10,000 workers, we implemented upgrades in five core areas: health & safety, chemical management, energy and water efficiency, productivity, and quality assurance. The results were tangible—one factory reduced its electricity usage by 58%, while another increased production efficiency by 22%. This initiative is just one example of how our B Corp commitment translates into real action: investing in people, improving systems, and building long-term resilience in the global textile industry.
